Hello, my name is Caryn Harrison and I am the Administrative Assistant here at Harvest. I began my employment here at the church in March of 2005. I am married to my husband, Gene, and we have been married since 1990. We have two children Kyle and Elizabeth. My two favorite seasons are fishing and hunting and those happen to be my favorite hobbies as well!
My favorite scripture verse is found in Psalms Chapter 45 verse 11: “Let the King be enthralled by your beauty; honor Him, for He is your Lord.” To me beauty in this verse means a couple of different things. Naturally when we hear the word beauty we automatically think physical beauty. So yes, I think God desires us to keep ourselves up, to take care of ourselves physically (1 Corinthian 6:19). But beauty to me can be displayed in the way you speak, are your words pleasing and uplifting to one another or do you use your words to spread gossip or to talk poorly about someone or are you always negative about situations and/or things. These things do not display the beauty of God to anyone. Beauty to me also means serving or servant hood – do you pitch in and help when needed and do it with a servant’s heart or do you grumble and complain the whole time you are completing the task? Just another way to display God’s beauty from within you. So “Let the King be enthralled by your beauty; honor Him, for He is your Lord.”
Praying for blessings for you and your family!
