At Harvest we believe that missions is the heart of God. The good news of the Gospel is that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) We believe that everyone needs to understand the amazing gift of salvation that God freely offers to everyone. We also understand that it is essential that we share this good news all over the world because without a personal, saving relationship with Jesus, no one can have the amazing gift of eternal life.
The Missions Department at Harvest wants to provide the church with many and varied opportunities to share God’s love with our lost world. One way that this happens is through overseas mission’s trips. In the past, the church has gone on trips to places such as Columbia, Austria, Venezuela, El Salvador, and Ecuador. Our most recent mission’s trip is to Siberia to work with the Teen Challenge there. We are currently looking into planning trips to Spain, and Cambodia. We would also like to provide opportunities for home mission’s trips in the future, such as working with local church planters. The Missions Department also provides opportunities for people to share God’s love with others by partnering with the missionaries that we support with finances and prayer. It is important for us all to remember that missionaries are not just the people that go overseas fulltime and tell people about Jesus; if you are a Christian, you are a missionary. We have all been called to be Christ’s ambassadors to the world around us and share His love with everyone that we meet.
If you are interested in helping with the Missions Department in any way or are interested in going on short-term mission’s trips, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to get to know you better and work together to share God’s love with our world!
